Samoa's new High Performance Capital Infrastructure Project is on track for completion ahead of their Rugby World Cup preparation camp in August.

The Project Management group met on Friday to be updated on progress and the news is all good.

The facility, which will comprise a gymnasium, recovery facility, accommodation block and a new administration facility which will house all Samoa Rugby Union staff, remains on schedule for completion by the end of July. The Samoa Rugby Union will assemble the Manu Samoa in Apia in August to finalise preparations for Rugby World Cup.

The roof is now on the Administration block and is approaching lock-up stage where the final fit-out will be undertaken. The first floor slab of the gym and accommodation block was poured last week and the steel frame and roof structure will start going up this week.

The IRB has contributed over GBP1million to the project as part of the Strategic Investment Initiative aimed at improving the competitiveness of international rugby.
